2.2m students head to schools Sunday for 2nd semester

Ammon News - The Ministry of Education said Saturday it completed all preparations to receive students for the start on Sunday of the second semester of the school year.
Some 2.2 million male and female students of all streams will tomorrow head to classrooms in 7,500 schools across the governorates of the Kingdom, said ministry spokesman Ahmad Masa'feh.
He told Petra in an interview that the administrative and academic staff are ready, witha a cadre of 170,000 teachers and administrators to welcome the students.
Masa'feh said that the start date of the academic semester is as scheduled in the School Calendar, and students will attend classes according to previously announced hours and dates, both in one- or two-shift public schools.
He said textbooks are available in education departments' warehouses and will be distributed to schools, adding that classrooms are heated "to provide a suitable and comfortable study environment."
