Ammon News - A slight drop in temperatures is forecast on Sunday, bringing relatively cold weather conditions in most parts of the country, while it will be pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Toward Monday evening, the Kingdom will be gradually affected by unstable weather conditions with a chance for scattered showers of rain, accompanied by thunder at times, in the southern region, the JMD added.

On Tuesday, a cold and wet air mass associated with an air depression centered over northern Cyprus is expected to grip the Kingdom, pushing temperatures down and triggering chilly and cloudy weather with rainfall in the northern and central regions, the meteorologist noted.

Heavy downpours are forecast at times with thunderstorms and hail, causing flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas.

During the evening hours, rainfall will stretch to cover the southwestern part of the country, with a slight chance for light showers of snow mixed with rain over the southern high peaks of Al-Sharah mountain range, forecasters predicted.

Winds will be westerly brisk with strong gusts at times, exceeding 60 km/h in the Badia, the weather department also expected.

Temperatures in the capital Amman today will range between a high of 18 degrees Celsius and a low of 5C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 24C, sliding to 15C at night.
