Ammon News - Astronomer Imad Mujahid confirmed that the asteroid bearing the name “2023 BU” will approach Earth Friday morning, January 27, 2023, to a dangerous distance from Earth estimated at about 10,000 km from the center of the Earth, a distance that an asteroid has never approached before from Earth.
Mujahid said in a statement to Ammon on Thursday, that if we deduct the distance between the Earth’s surface and its center, which is 6,400 km, the asteroid will be close to Earth at a distance of 3,600 km, and it will travel at a speed of 9 km / s, or 33,000 km per hour, indicating that its size is between 4-8 meters.
Mujahid ruled out that this asteroid would hit the Earth because of its speed, indicating that it is considered the most asteroid approaching the Earth since 1925.
