Senate president, Belgian envoy talk ties, cooperation

Ammon News - Senate President, Faisal Fayez, on Wednesday discussed with Belgian Ambassador to Jordan, Serge Dickschen, various aspects of bilateral relations and the region's current situation.

During the meeting, Fayez valued the "high" level of Jordanian-Belgian relations, based on mutual respect and common interests, stressing the importance of strengthening ties in various fields.

The meeting tackled a slew of issues, foremost was the importance of increasing bilateral investments and trade exchanges, and building economic partnerships between the two countries in various fields, according to a Senate statement.

Fayez also pointed to Jordan's continued keenness to strengthen relations with Belgium and maintain coordination and consultation on various issues of common concern.

In addition, Fayez stressed the importance of strengthening joint economic cooperation and activating bilateral agreements in various fields.

Highlighting the region's current situation, he voiced Jordan's "firm" positions under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership in this regard, based on the necessity of establishing regional security and stability and enabling its people to live in freedom and security.

For his part, Belgian envoy lauded great role and continuous efforts made by His Majesty King Abdullah II to resolve the region's various issues and establish a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Dickschen stressed his country's keenness to strengthen its relations with Jordan, especially in the field of strengthening economic and investment partnership, and activating joint cooperation between the two countries' industry and commerce chambers.
