House speaker meets with Qatari envoy over ties, cooperation

Ammon News - Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, on Sunday discussed with Qatari ambassador to Jordan Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani, bilateral relations, especially in joint parliamentary areas.

Safadi and Qatari envoy lauded the "solid" bilateral relations under leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, stressing the importance of maintaining joint communication and consultation to serve common interests.

Safadi said both countries' positions aim to serve Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause, stressing that Jordan under the King's leadership will remain a defender of the just Palestinian cause.

In this regard, he also affirmed Jordanians' full support to Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Safadi congratulated Qatar's ambassador on his country's success in organizing FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as an "important" event, stressing that Qatar presented a "bright" image of the Arab nation and culture.

For his part, Qatari envoy said bilateral relations are built on "solid" foundations and are witnessing progress in all fields.

The diplomat also affirmed his country's support for Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian sanctities.

Lauding Jordan as a stable and secure country with a "stimulating" investment environment, he said his country "highly" values Jordan's support and positions during Qatar's organization of FIFA World Cup 2022.
