Faliha Khudair to fill vacant Lower House seat in central Badia district-IEC

Ammon News - The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Thursday announced that Faliha Salama Maqboul Khudair will fill the vacant Lower House seat in central Badia district.

The commission's announcement came after receiving a Lower House letter stating that a seat in the central Badia district has become vacant.

IEC said based on the provisions of Jordan's election law, the commission told the House that the next winner from the same "Ahed" list in the central Badia constituency is Fulaiha Khudair, who won 2,912 votes in the last parliamentary elections, according to a statement.

During a session held on Wednesday, the House voted by majority on its Legal Committee's decision to expel MP Mohammad Fayez.

A total of 92 out of 110 deputies who attended the session voted in favor of ousting MP Fayez.
