AND thwarts 2 drug smuggling attempts, seized 280,000 narcotic pills

Ammon News - The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) that workers in the Anti Narcotic Department (AND) thwarted two attempts to smuggle narcotic pills in two separate cases.
In the first case, a special investigative team followed up on information received by the administration about a person of Arab nationality preparing a freight vehicle and hiding large quantities of narcotic pills inside it.
As the team was able to identify and seize the vehicle and the suspicious person, and by searching they found 270,000 narcotic pills hidden inside the vehicle, and an investigation began with him to determine the place to which they were intended to be smuggled.
In the second case, and at one of the border crossings, a person was arrested upon his arrival at the crossing after information was received that he had hidden a quantity of narcotic pills in the body of the vehicle to be smuggled into a neighboring country.
By searching the vehicle, 10,000 narcotic pills were found hidden inside one of the vehicle's mechanical parts.
