Ammon News - The UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on Thursday to discuss the Israel's violation in Jerusalem, at a joint Jordanian Palestinian request, which was supported by the UAE, the Arab delegate to the council, as well as China.
The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations said that the session will discuss Israeli violations in Jerusalem, especially in the wake of the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, storming the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, last Tuesday.
He pointed out that there is a Palestinian Arab-Islamic movement, which precedes the session of the Security Council, explaining that a meeting will be held on Wednesday for the Council of Arab Ambassadors, and another for the Islamic group.
In the evening, a joint Palestinian Arab-Islamic delegation will meet with the President of the Security Council, and two other meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Palestine Committee at the United Nations.
Ambassador Mansour stressed that the Security Council session is extremely important due to its speedy convening and the unification of the international community in condemning and rejecting this intrusion by an extremist minister, who is supported by the most extremist government in history.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday assigned the Palestine Mission in New York to take immediate action in the UN and the Security Council to condemn and stop the attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque by members of the Israeli government and extremist groups.
Abbas stressed the importance of this “international move” to stop this dangerous Israeli escalation against Islamic and Christian sanctities, noting that this move is taking place in coordination with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and working with groups in the UN.
And the new Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday with heavy Israeli security, and this storming came for the first time to Ben Gvir in his capacity as a minister in the new Israeli government.
