Tourism revenue at $2.870 billion in past 7 months

Ammon News - Jordan's tourism revenue soared by 204.5 percent to about $2.870 in the first seven months of the year, as more than 2.5 foreign tourists arrived in the Kingdom during that period, according to Central Bank statistics.
Simultaneously, spending by Jordanians vacationing outside the Kingdom during the same period reached about $832 million, with an increase of 99.7 percent over the same period of 2021, as the number of Jordanians departing the Kingdom for trips abroad grew by 95 percent, the figures showed.
On a monthly level, the data showed a 123.3 percent increase in revenue from incoming tourism during the month of July, standing at $673.3 million, compared with the same period of last year.
On the other hand, the data indicated an increase in spending by Jordanian tourists outside the Kingdom during the month of July by 55.1 percent from the same month last year, reaching $213.5 million.
