Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, on Monday met with Chargé d'Affairs at the Australian Embassy, Amanda McGregor, for a discussion on using organic waste to raise soil efficiency and fertility, reduce water consumption, and confront climate changes.

Hneifat stressed the importance of the idea that tries to find an equation between land and water resources and their effects on sustainability in light of the land decline challenge, the inability of sustaining land and the need to provide food.

The meeting was attended by Australian expert Ken Bellamy, VRM Biologik representative, and Director-General of the National Agriculture Research Center (NARC), Nizar Haddad.

Hneifat directed the center to coordinate with the expert and conduct the necessary tests, so that the ministry could adopt, communicate and benefit from the experience in the cultivation of wheat, barley, field crops, pastoral reserves, and afforestation.
