Safadi holds meetings with counterparts in NATO Summit

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Wednesday held a series of meetings with a number of his counterparts participating in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit in Madrid.

The meetings dealt with bilateral relations under the EU-Jordan partnership, in addition to international and regional developments, foremost of which was the Palestinian cause and efforts exerted to move toward peace on the basis of the two-state solution.

The diplomats also tackled a political solution to the Syrian crisis, Iraq and its stability, supporting Lebanon, and the repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis on food security and energy.

Safadi held talks with the Foreign Ministers of the Netherlands; Wopke Hoekstra, Turkey; Mevlut Cavusoglu, Sweden; Ann Linde, Germany; Annalena Baerbock, Spain; Jose Manuel Albares Bueno, Italy; Luigi Di Maio, Canada; Melanie Joly, Slovenia; Tanja Fajon and France; Catherine Colonna.

The minister also met with his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Marzouk, and discussed means of cementing bilateral cooperation in many fields.
