NCSCM conducts women-led security drill

Ammon News - The National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) on Monday conducted a national drill, to be the first of its kind under the leadership and management of Jordanian women. Titled "Black Iris", the exercise witnessed the participation of various ministries, institutions and armed forces and security bodies, in addition to the private sector. The drill, attended by multiple ministers and officials, aims to highlight the importance of women's participation in decision-making, in implementation of the Royal directives to empower women in the Kingdom.

Deputy Chairman of the NCSCM Brig. Gen. Hatem Zu’bi said that the notion of the exercise is part of the centre's programmes and activities set to assess the national plans, as well as to empower women by engaging them with senior leadership positions through the exercise, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The drill, including several scenarios that simulate the Kingdom's exposure to sudden events and natural disasters that could affect public safety, aim to increase women's efficiency in dealing with crises and disasters and develop the capabilities of state institutions and employees, notably in rapid response.
