Ammon News - Interior Minister Mazen Faraya Tuesday said that development is a "priority" for his Ministry and emphasised the importance of national efforts to that end.

In a meeting in Amman with governor deputies for development and Ministry staff, Faraya said there must be an understanding of the Ministry's role in development, adding that to push development forward, there must be innovative initiatives and communication with local communities, CSOs and the public sector.

He highlighted that there must be dialogue and discussion about the financial issues in Jordan and the efforts exerted by the government to address poverty and unemployment. He also talked about the partnership between the private and public sectors to create a database for the use of governors, noting that development is a necessity to reform the social, political and administrative aspects in Jordan.
