Jordan, Georgia talk ties; regional, international developments

Ammon News - Jordan Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili Sunday held a meeting in Amman for a discussion on ties and regional and international developments.
Safadi and Darchiashvili said that the two countries are keen to bolster bilateral cooperation. They highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in different areas, especially in the scopes of agriculture, economy, education, defence, tourism and culture.
The top diplomats urged concerted efforts to facilitate direct flights between Amman and Tbilisi to promote tourism.
The meeting discussed regional and international developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause and efforts to resolve crises.
Darchiashvili lauded Jordan's efforts in upholding security and stability in the region, adding that Georgia is keen to consolidate cooperation with Jordan as the two countries celebrated the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations last month.
Darchiashvili 's visit to Jordan is part of a delegation accompanying Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, who is in Jordan to lay the foundation stone for the Georgian Cultural Centre in the Al Maghats (Baptism Site).
