Jordan partakes in Conference of Arab Union of Electricity in Doha

Ammon News - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, chaired a Jordanian delegation, participating in the 7th General Conference of the Arab Union of Electricity, which was opened in Doha on Sunday

The three-day conference, entitled "Towards a common vision to achieve a promising future for electricity in the Arab world", will cover policies and strategies of the electricity sector in the Arab world "Reality and Future Prospects", prospects for the electric power sector in the Arab world to keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the role of new and renewable energies in developing the economy and preserving the environment in the Arab countries, and prospects for the Arab common market for electricity and interconnection projects.

On the sidelines of the conference, inaugurated by Qatar Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi and organized by Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) and Qatar Power Company (QPOWER), an exhibition for the manufacture of electrical equipment and supplies for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity in the Arab countries will be held.

The exhibition aims to develop and introduce this industry, in the context of the continuous endeavor to support and encourage local electrical industries and develop their businesses.

Meetings of the 14th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity, the 37th meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity, the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union of Electricity, and the meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Union of Electricity, are scheduled to be held during the next two days of the conference.
