Princess Muna honors nurses for their work during pandemic

HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein on Saturday led a ceremony to honour nurses who worked during the Covid-19 pandemic, on the occasion of the International Women's Day and Mother's Day.

Addressing the ceremony, Royal Medical Services Director General Brig. Yousef Zraiqat noted that the nursing sector has exerted great efforts to face the pandemic, which came to remind the whole world that a capable health sector is the first line of defense and that medical competencies, top of which is nursing, are the most important elements of success in saving lives and containing the disease and preventing its spread.

President of International Women’s Forum (IWF) Jordan, Rabab Mango, said it is necessary to shed light on women on the front lines in gratitude and appreciation of the "heroic and humanitarian" role of nurses during the pandemic.

Secretary-General of the Jordanian Nursing Council, Hani Nawafleh, hailed the sacrifices of nurses who answered the call of duty with courage and dedication.
