Cold weather forecast to prevail countrywide on Thursday

Ammon News - A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Thursday, but will remain 3-5 degrees below annual average, with cold weather conditions in most parts of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Clouds will appear at low altitudes in the northern and central region, while winds will be northwesterly moderate.

On Friday, mercury levels will also increase, but relatively cold weather will remain in most parts of the Kingdom, while it will be pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Clouds will build up at low altitudes in the northern and central regions, bringing a chance for scattered showers at night.

Cold weather will persist on Saturday despite a slight rise in temperatures, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.

Mercury in Amman today is forecast to reach a high of 12 degrees Celsius and a low of 2C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a high of 20C, dipping to 10C during night hours.
