Two Syrian refugees test positive for COVID-19

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Two Syrian refugees have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 disease in the eastern Azraq camp, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced on Tuesday.

The two cases were evacuated to an isolation facility in the Dead Sea region, the refugee agency said, adding that contact testing and isolation measures are underway.

It stressed that it is closely coordinating on the matter with the Syrian Refugees Affairs Directorate and the Ministry of Health, indicating that the infections are the first to be recorded at refugee camps in the Kingdom.
