Ammon News - In order to uphold the law and safeguard society from the proliferation of drugs, the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Public Security Directorate destroyed narcotic substances seized in (58) cases today, after their rulings were confirmed.
The amounts of drugs destroyed in different instances, including trafficking, possession, and smuggling, consisted of (14,000,000 Captagon pills), (3100 narcotic pills), (686 kg of hashish), (21 kg of marijuana), (13 kg of crystal), and (2,380 kg of cocaine).
The Public Security Directorate works tirelessly in all regions and border crossings of Jordan to prevent the entry and circulation of drugs, in collaboration with the Jordanian Armed Forces, Arab Army, security services, and customs, aiming to protect society and individuals from the destructive impact of drug use.
The destruction process was overseen by a special committee led by the Inspector General, the Director of the Department of Laboratories and Criminal Evidence, the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, and the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court. They were destroyed in special ovens with temperatures reaching a thousand degrees Celsius to melt, crush, and remove their narcotic properties.
