Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, Saturday, said that the government will continue the suspension of government institutions, university and school classes in the foreseeable future.
In a press briefing, conducted from his own home, Adaileh, who is also the government spokesperson, pointed out, that the government has not yet taken a formal decision regarding the continuity of the suspension of work, which ends next Tuesday evening, adding that "a decision may be taken by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow to gradually resume work at production and services sectors, in accordance with strict safety and precautionary measures."
The Minister underscored that despite the government's adherence to the curfew, it has been taking people's questions and observations around the clock. He said that the government has also been following up on the implementation of the system of procedures and decisions that had been already taken, as it studies many proposed decisions that can be taken later on in light of developments.
On the issue of Jordanian workers who have been directly impacted by the disruption of work, Adaileh highlighted that the government is currently working to accelerate the drafting of a mechanism to assist it via the Social Protection Team, "and we will announce its details soon."
"Thank God, we passed the second day of the blanket curfew in a calm and smooth manner, with a limited number of violations that have been dealt with, in accordance with the provisions of the law, he added.
Adaileh stressed, "We will not relent during the next stage, even if the number of infections falls, and we have more precautions and decisions that we will announce within days, in order to protect your health and preserve your safety, hoping for continued cooperation and commitment to overcome together this ordeal."
