The meeting also tackled the need to restart Palestinian-Israeli peace talks to resolve the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, and the Arab Peace Initiative, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on pre-June, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital. His Majesty and the Omani minister discussed the crises in the region and the importance of stepping up efforts to reach a political solution to achieve security and stability to the peoples of the region.
