Egyptian ambassador highlights strong ties between Jordan and Egypt

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Egyptian Ambassador to Amman Tariq Adel highlighted the strategic ties between Jordan and Egypt as well as the economic reforms carried out by both countries despite the regional and international conditions.
The ambassador said in a press statement on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the revolution of July 23, that the mutual visits between President Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II reflect the strong the Egyptian-Jordanian relations, the close coordination between the two leaderships and the joint conviction of the political leadership in the two countries to boost bilateral ties.
On bilateral trade exchange, he said it is below the expectations of both countries, stressing the need for activating economic ties and removing obstacles hindering trade between the two countries.
The ambassador voiced keenness to strengthen cooperation between both countries, pointing to the Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee and its meetings that provide an opportunity to exchange views on aspects of joint cooperation and means to develop it.
On the Palestinian issue, the ambassador affirmed the importance of Jordanian-Egyptian coordination to support the Palestinian issue, noting that Egypt backs all efforts designed to push the peace process forward and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Regarding the Syrian crisis, he pointed to the continued Egyptian efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis that preserves Syria's unity and ends bloodshed.
