Regent meets German foreign minister

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, the Regent, received at Al-Husseiniya Palace on Thursday German Foreign Minister Haikou Mas for talks on the strategic partnership between the two countries and the latest developments in the region.
During the meeting, Prince Faisal stressed Jordan's keenness to expand cooperation with Germany in the political, economic and military fields. He also expressed appreciation for Germany's support for many development projects.
Prince Faisal also reviewed Jordan's stances under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II towards various challenges and crises in the region and efforts to reach political solutions that restore security and stability for their peoples.
The two sides reviewed the additional burdens imposed by the Syrian crisis on the Jordanian economy, and the need to increase support of the international community to refugees' host countries, especially Jordan, to enable them to press ahead with providing humanitarian and relief services.
The meeting also touched on efforts to revive the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis, based on the two-state solution and the international legitimacy resolutions, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Regional and international efforts in the war on terrorism were also reviewed as part of a holistic strategy.
For his part, the German Foreign Minister expressed his country's keenness to support the Kingdom and to enhance cooperation and coordination in various fields, saying Jordan, under His Majesty's leadership, represents the voice of reason and wisdom in the region.
He also lauded Jordan's pivotal role to achieve peace and to bolster security and stability in the Middle East and the world.
Royal Court Chief, Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, and Advisor to the King, Director of His Majesty's Office, attended the meeting.
