Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in mercury levels is expected on Wednesday, becoming 3-5 degrees above their annual average. Therefore, moderate weather conditions will prevail in the hilly areas and the desert region, while it will be relatively hot in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), the Kingdom will be affected this evening by a weak spell of unstable weather, bringing cloudy skies with scattered showers mainly in the southern and eastern parts of the country, while winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust at times.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 26 degrees Celsius, 22 in the northern cities and 24 in the southern parts, dropping down to 15, 13 and 11 respectively. The weather will be hotter in the Gulf of Aqaba with highs reaching 32 degrees and lows standing at 22, the JMD added.

On Thursday, the country will remain under the impact of the weak depression, therefore similar moderate conditions will continue with a chance for showers in the southern regions. Winds will be easterly moderate to brisk at times, raising dust in the southern and eastern parts of the Kingdom, the department noted.

Warm weather is forecast on Friday in the mountainous areas and the Badia regions, while it will be relatively hot in the Jordan Valley and the port of Aqaba with high clouds and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD further said.
