Kuwait Emir receives message from King

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Senate President Faisal al-Fayez on Monday conveyed a written message from His Majesty King Abdullah II to Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, that underlined his pride in the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and his keen interest in further cementing cooperation in various fields.
In the letter, the King expressed his appreciation for the "brotherly positions of His Highness Sheikh Sabah and the State of Kuwait towards Jordan," stressing the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on various Arab and regional issues, and enhancing the solidarity and cooperation of Arab and Islamic countries and the ability to face challenges in the region.
For his part, Sheikh Sabah, who welcomed the Senate chief at the Al Bayan Palace, reaffirmed the solid ties between the two countries, noting the ongoing coordination and consultation with His Majesty King Abdullah on regional and international issues, and "all that would help strengthen the Kuwaiti-Jordanian relations and build on them in various fields." The Emir stressed Kuwait's support of Jordan's security and stability, pledging that "Kuwait has always stood by Jordan, and will not abandon it in order to face the economic difficulties its faces." Fayez said relations had been solid and strong, praising the Gulf Arab state's support for Jordan, especially in the current difficult economic circumstances facing the Kingdom due to the insecuriy and instability in the region.
Fayez spoke about the repercussions of regional turmoil on Jordan and said the Kingdom had maintained its stability despite the political conflicts surrounding it, but it faced economic hardship due to the surrounding situation and the international community's failure to live up to its pledges to Jordan, which had received more than one million and a half Syrian refugees.
He commended Kuwait's support and expressed his hope to increase it and expand Kuwaiti investment in the Kingdom, pointing out that Jordan regards the Gulf countries as its strategic depth, and reiterating its rejection of any attempt to undermine the unity and security of Gulf Arab states or interfere in their affairs.
Also during his visit, Fayez met Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and other Kuwaiti officials on ways of cementing political and economic ties as well as regional developments.
