Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Senate and the Lower House of Parliament condemned the brutal Israeli attacks on Palestinians last Friday while marching near Gaza's border with Israel in a major demonstration marking the anniversary of Land Day.

In a joint session for the two chambers on Sunday, Senate President Faisal Al Fayez called on international legislative and parliamentary associations as well as human rights organizations, to shoulder their legal and ethical responsibilities and work to end the suffering of the Palestinians and enable them to regain their legitimate rights.

Al-Fayez described the Israeli aggression which claimed the lives of a number of Palestinians and injured hundreds of others
as a "war crime", adding that the perpetrators should be punished in line with international charters and resolutions.

Al Fayez said "the international community must realize that Israel, as an occupying power, is responsible for the aggressive acts," he said, noting that Israel will lead the region into a new war that will be disastrous for all.

The Senate president affirmed the Parliament's support to efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He said the Palestinian cause will remain Jordan's central issue and that without a just and comprehensive solution to this issue, the region will not enjoy security and stability.
