"Jordan's custodianship is firm and historically entrenched and any attempt to circumvent that is bound to inflame the sensibilities of Arabs and Muslims around the world", Tarawneh added as he received British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden. He pointed out that Jerusalem is facing waves of settlements, in addition to Israeli recurrent violations against Palestine and its people which would lead to extremism and terrorism. Tarawneh also said the legislature has made significant steps to have an effective role among various global and regional parliamentary organizations. For his part, Oakden said his country was keen to develop and promote its relations with Jordan, highlighting the importance of increased international assistance to Amman. He also noted the importance of investment in Jordan and the private sector's role in attracting further investments to the Kingdom.
