Turkish Ambassador: Jordanian-Turkish ties historic, deep-rooted

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Turkish Ambassador in Amman, Murat Karagoz, on Wednesday, described ties between his country and Jordan as historic and deep-rooted and said the Kingdom is "a jewel in a turbulent region" and continues to deliver major advancements.
Speaking on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Jordanian-Turkish relations, the ambassador told a press conference that Jordan remains a friend and key partner for Turkey and that this year the two countries will work to expand cooperation.
Highlighting economic relations, Karagoz noted that the two-way trade exchange between Jordan and Turkey amounted to $1 billion in 2014, while Turkish investments in Jordan total $2.2 billion in various fields.
He also pointed out that there are 700 Jordanian students in Turkish universities and 3,500 Turkish nationals in Jordan, saying those can act as a bridge for communication between the two nations.
Additionally, the diplomat said his country maintains cooperation and coordination with Jordan in the fight against terrorism.
