Travel via QAIA up 9% in November

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), said the facility had handled 488,215 passengers (PAX) during November 2016, a 9.1% increase from the same month in 2015.

The Airport also recorded 5,278 aircraft movements (ACM) compared to 5,173 ACM in 2015, indicating a 2.0% year-on-year rise, whereas cargo figures dropped 5.6% as QAIA handled 8,130 tons, down from the 8,612 tons recorded during the same month of last year. The increase in airport traffic during November raised the 2016 year-to-date (YTD) PAX to 6,871,408 for a 4.7% rise compared to the same period last year. Additionally, YTD ACM increased by 2.9% to settle at 67,831 ACM, while YTD cargo traffic figures went up 1.5% to reach 92,255 tons.
