PM: Gov't cut expenses by JD169 million

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki said that the government managed to cut expenses in the 2016 state budget and the budget of independent government units by JD169 million.
The prime minister made the remarks during a dialogue session that was held by the Jordanian Strategic Forum on Monday and attended by a number of ministers, members of the forum, businessmen and economists.
He said that Jordan and the European are expected to sign a deal on facilitating the rules of origin to increase Jordan's exports to the EU later this month.
The prime minister highlighted the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors, noting that the government stands within the same distance from all economic bodies. Mulki said that the government will not present draft laws and legislation that will affect the private sector to the parliament before it reaches an understanding on them with the private sector.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Jawad Anani said that the governemnt's ability to manage public funds has become limited and needs the participation of the private sector, noting that many projects will be implemented based on that.
The forum provides an opportunity for comprehensive dialogue to increase awareness and participation in economic decision making, enhance the future of Jordan's economy and implement the best economic practices and concepts.
