Zain becomes a National Supporter of Jordan 2016

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016 has announced the signing of an agreement with the Zain Jordan Company. Under this agreement Zain will be a National Supporter of the tournament, which will be held in Jordan during September and October. The signing ceremony took place on 29 May 2016 at the Zain Jordan headquarters and was attended by His Highness Prince Ali bin Hussein, the President of the Jordan Football Association (JFA) and Mr. Ahmed Al-Hanandeh, the CEO of Zain Jordan. The National Supporter agreement came into effect after it was signed by Mr. Salah Sabra, the Chairman of the LOC and Vice-President of the JFA, and Mr. Hanandeh.

Now that Zain Jordan has become one of the National Supporters of the tournament, it will offer its full backing to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and play a vital role in supporting this competition locally in Jordan. As well as providing financial support, Zain Jordan will carry out its role as a National Supporter both before and during the event. It will back the LOC’s efforts to mobilise local support for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and encourage society to participate in women’s sport, in all its forms.

On this occasion, His Highness Prince Ali bin Hussein said: “We welcome Zain as a National Supporter of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. We hope to involve all the stakeholders in the private and public sectors and we encourage them to support this event and take part in achieving its goals. We know the extent of the challenge facing Jordan as regards to the hosting of this tournament. We appreciate the role of the private sector and we welcome Zain Jordan’s support in influencing local society and attracting Jordanian fans to the tournament. We look forward to hosting a global competition which will have a profound effect on all Jordanians.”

Zain Jordan CEO Ahmed Al-Hanandeh had this say: “We are proud to be here today, supporting women’s football in Jordan and taking part in the organisation of the most important international event in the Arab region. We will continue our strong partnership with the Jordan Football Association by supporting the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and we consider this a vital step in increasing our support for local sportspeople and youth generally. Building a better future for young Jordanians is an integral part of Zain’s vision. We have taken on a pioneering role in supporting this tournament and helping it to succeed, and we know that our meeting today is not only to sign a sponsorship agreement but to help realize the goals of all young people, develop football and promote it in all public spaces. We are fully aware of the positive effect this tournament will have on Jordan.”
