Depression forecast to lower temperatures, bring heavy rain, thunderstorms

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Kingdom on Monday remains under the impact of the cold air mass, which started late Sunday, bringing heavy rain accompanied with thunderstorms and lowering temperatures to become below their annual average.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), hail is expected on the hilly areas with westerly moderate to brisk winds blowing dust in the Badia region.

A rise in temperatures is forecast Tuesday and Wednesday, but it will remain cold and relatively cloudy to cloudy with light showers at times. Winds will be northwesterly moderate with fog formation in early morning hours and during the night, the JMD added.

Maximum temperatures expected in the capital for today will reach 10 degrees Celsius dropping down to 5 degrees at night, in the northern regions they will range between a high of 10 degrees and a low of 5 degrees, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 20 degrees plunging to 11 degrees at night.
