The PSD's cyber crime unit said it has recently dealt with a very dangerous online fraudster who used to connect with other peoples under the names of political figures, claiming that he was collecting funds for Syrian refugees in Jordan on behalf of these figures. The police urged the public not to extend any donations to people they don't trust and direct whatever they want to give to official channels responsible for collecting donations.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Public Security Department PSD, on Wednesday, warned that some people are using the names of public figures to launch scam online fundraising under the pretext of helping the refugees.

The PSD's cyber crime unit said it has recently dealt with a very dangerous online fraudster who used to connect with other peoples under the names of political figures, claiming that he was collecting funds for Syrian refugees in Jordan on behalf of these figures.

The police urged the public not to extend any donations to people they don't trust and direct whatever they want to give to official channels responsible for collecting donations.
