Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The King of Jordan Abdullah II will arrive in Sochi on November 24 for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said.
"Quite a timely and important meeting, given the Syrian crisis. Actually, this topic will be key and fundamental during the talks," Ushakov said at a briefing in Moscow on Friday.
The two leaders have maintained quite a close, candid and trust-based dialogue; Abdullah has visited Russia 14 times since 2001, the last time was on August 25.
"I will mention that in October the Russian and Jordanian military set up a mechanism for bilateral cooperation. We propose coordinating this mechanism with the information-coordination center of Russia, Iraq, Syria and Iran, which is operating in Baghdad," Ushakov said.
He recalled that after the Vienna meeting on November 14 it was the Jordanians who were entrusted with coordinating the work of compiling the list of terror groups in Syria.
"Apart from the Syrian issue, the joint fight against ISIL, the parties will discuss bilateral cooperation, including military-technical," Ushakov said.
