Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A joint police force working with the criminal investigation unit, during an operation at dawn, arrested a number of people wanted in fraud cases in the Al Ramtha district, some 90km north of Amman , the Public Security Department (PSD) said Tuesday.

The joint force conducted a raid at dawn at the whereabouts of the criminals after receiving complaints that some fraudsters on social media websites were trying to lure people by convincing them that they have dollars that they want to sell at a lower price than the market, and then looting them of money at gunpoint when they meet.

The PSD's Media Center said after gathering information, the force swooped down upon two houses where one suspect was arrested from the first house. He was described as "very dangerous" and had 10 cases against him besides being wanted in 16 others.

The officers arrested three other people from the house and seized a gun, ammunition, some amount of Jordanian and US currencies in counterfeit, and surveillance cameras.

In the second raid, the squad arrested another dangerous criminal who has seven cases against him and is wanted in 45 instances of fraud, theft and assault cases. It also apprehended another person accompanying him from inside the house.

Police confiscated an automatic Kalashnikov , ammunition and equipment, in addition to a large amount of US dollars in counterfeit.
