Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - In a speech during the ceremony, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour said the government was keen on devising a participatory way of work in executing "Jordan 2025" blueprint.

The prime minister stressed that this document has illuminated the path to Jordan's future and determined the general framework that will govern economic and social policies based on strengthening the rule of law, equal opportunities, increasing participatory approach in formulating policies and achieving financial sustainability, self-reliance and institutions' empowerment.

Ensour added that the government will adopt measures and policies included in the document and at sectoral levels, according to a flexible timetable for the program, taking into account developments that could occur regionally and globally. He added, "These policies do not represent all that we need to do over the next decade." The premier noted that the policies contained in the document represent important structural and programmatic reforms and improvements, which cannot be overlooked over the next ten years.

A follow-up unit was established at the cabinet to trail "Jordan 2025" blueprint's execution and its executive program results on short and medium-term levels, Ensour said, adding that the results will be published periodically and made available to the society, thus enhancing transparency, accountability and enabling people to assess shortcomings, thereby enhancing government-citizen credibility and trust.

The King and the Queen watched a film that pictured what citizens aspire to achieve for a better future, "Jordan 2025" blueprint's objectives and stages of drafting and policies and procedures contained in the document.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury said "Our first and ultimate concern when drafting the document was the citizen, as the economic situation, cost of living, poverty and unemployment were, and still are, topping Jordanians' priorities." He added that the blueprint was made to address these challenges and help advance Jordanians, over the next ten years, to a stage of more prosperous and well-being.

"Jordan 2025" blueprint aims to improve basic services provided to citizens, leading to a parallel society in which opportunities would be available to all, bridge the gap between governorates, achieve financial stability and sustainability and self-reliance, as well as enhance Jordan's economy's productivity and competitiveness and provide direct support for targeted groups, which would promote the economy's invincibility and reduce the impact of external shocks on its performance.
