Prime Minister receives Jordan Valley Farmers Union delegation

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Saturday, met with the president and members of the Jordan Valley Farmers Union (JVFU).
JVFU president Adnan Khaddam briefed the prime minister about Jordan Valley farmers' concerns and problems, in light of regional conditions, especially in Syria, which have affected Jordan's agricultural exports.
He also reviewed Jordan Valley farmers' main demands, particularly exempting production inputs for the agricultural sector from taxes and opening new markets for Jordanian agricultural products.
The prime minister said the government is negotiating with many countries to open new markets for Jordanian agro produce, which were affected by the situation in Syria, in particular.
He also noted that the government plans to distribute plots of land in the Jordan Valley for investment purposes by the valley's residents, which is intended to improve their living conditions.
