Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The United States has approved a $21 million sale to Jordan of a Black Hawk helicopter to transport the country and high-level officials, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced in a statement.
“The proposed sale of one Black Hawk helicopter to Jordan will provide intra-country transportation for the Royal family, Jordanian officials, visiting Heads of State, and other dignitaries,” DSCA said on Tuesday.
U.S. Soldiers wait for the CH-47 Chinook helicopter to land so they can depart from an air-assault mission during Operation Champion Sword to search Khost province, Afghanistan, July 28, 2009. Afghan national security forces and International Security Assistance Forces teamed up to focus on specific militant targets and safe havens within Sabari and Terezai districts.
The proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a friendly country which has been and continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East, according to the statement.
The sale for the VIP (Very Important Person) aircraft was made although Jordan’s Air Force already has Black Hawk helicopters in its inventory.
