Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, Saturday, called on all stakeholders in the health sector to come up with a "practical vision" for a health system that includes all Jordanians.
The government has worked to expand the health insurance umbrella in order to reach a stage where all Jordanians are included. As of now, 87 percent of the population is insured, Ensour said, quoting Health Ministry's statistics.
Ensour, who was a patron for the health insurance forum conducted in Dead Sea and organized by Jordan Association for Medical Insurance, called for studying the health system and its feasibilities within three months which contribute in making the right decision.
In 2013, the government had formed a committee, headed by the Health minister and comprising representatives from both public and private sectors, to put in place a study about those having health insurance, and also ending cases of duplication as the country moves towards an advanced health system.
The committee was asked to amend the legislation related to the health sector in universities, institutions, companies and bodies where health insurance is optional, Ensour added.
