AMMONNEWS - The Free Syrian Army coalition of forces fighting the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad, announced on Saturday that it seized full control of the Daraa-Ramtha border crossing between Syria and Jordan, following weeks of fierce clashes.
The Daraa-Ramtha border crossing lies at the northern Jordanian border with Syria, and is one of the two main crossing points for people and goods between the two neighboring countries, who share over 360 kilometers of borders.
Meanwhile, a Jordanian security source said that the Daraa-Ramtha border crossing has been closed since the conflict erupted in neighboring Syria, noting that no crossing of people or goods goes through that border.
The source noted that the "Jaber" border remains the only border crossing between the two countries that is open for people's movement between Syria and Jordan.
Turkey's Anadolu news agency reported on Saturday that FSA leaders announced seizing full control of the Daraa-Ramtha border, after fierce clashes with the army forces of the Syrian regime.
