Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) A Russian aid plane landed on Thursday in Amman to offer assistance to Syrian refugees in Jordan.
Russian Ambassador to Jordan, Alexander Kalugin, who received the plane, said it had brought 36 tonnes of supplies in humanitarian aid and a high-capacity electric generator.
Another Russian aid plane will arrive in Jordan after a week, the envoy added.
Kalugin thanked the Kingdom for its efforts to ease the sufferings of Syrians in Jordan, pointing out the role of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) in this regard.
JHCO Secretary General Ayman Riyadh Al Mufleh said the aid will be distributed among Syrian refugees across the Kingdom. It will also help Jordan deal with the continuous influx of Syrian refugees into Jordan, he added.
Al Mufleh thanked the Russian government for the humanitarian aid, and expressed hope of receiving further assistance in the future to cope with the growing number of refugees in Jordan.
