Ammon News - We are just a few hours away from finding out who will be elected as the 47th President of the United States of America, today, on Tuesday. The 2024 elections differ from past elections in many aspects. Despite the high levels of anxiety and fear of violent situations being prevalent, similar to what occurred in the 2020 elections about four years ago.
And currently America is on the brink of a snowball effect, with signs suggesting that America might be headed towards a predicament.
What are the signs of suspicion that we, as observers of the American elections, should be looking out for?
On January 6, 2021, an unprecedented occurrence took place in the history of the United States. And it is worried that the same day will happen again this year, especially with the increased political divisions which increase the chance of getting involved in possible acts of rebellion.
The Department of Homeland Security and American voters are worried about a potential increase in aggressive incidents compared to previous ones.
Maybe the sight of the ballot boxes on fire in Washington, among other incidents, foreshadows what will occur in the days ahead.
CNN also reported that the National Guard is prepared to protect the country in anticipation of possible turmoil during the 60th US election.
The security plans highlighted by the Washington Post to prevent violence were characterized by authorities as preparation for worst-case scenarios.
Figures from the Department of Homeland Security show that approximately 400 incidents of political violence were tracked in the first and second quarters of this year, marking an almost 80% rise from 2022.
The speed is increasing as well, with 20% of local elected officials stating they have received threats.
Furthermore, most Americans are concerned about the prospect of an impending civil war.
Indeed, roughly 30% of Republicans anticipate that it will erupt in the upcoming years.
