Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, said that the occupation is the main reason for what is happening in the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip, calling for an end to war crimes in Gaza and he explained that "there is no justification for destroying the lives of two million Palestinians in the besieged Strip."
During a dialogue within the Munich Security Conference on Sunday, Safadi confirmed that Israeli cannot guarantee its security without guaranteeing the security of the Palestinians.
"We have got to frame things right. The problem with Israeli politics is that Israel does not want to recognize the right of the Palestinian people to exist," according to Safadi.
He also stressed that the current Israeli government does not want a deal regarding the hostages and does not want to end the war.
The Israeli government ignored all possible political solutions to the conflict in the Middle East and destroyed hospitals and infrastructure in Gaza, the FM added, noting that: "Gaza was a besieged prison before last October 7."
"If we want peace, the path is the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state living next to Israel," Safadi noted, adding that: "Displacement is unacceptable. It's a violation of international law. It's a war crime."
"We all cannot have peace until the Palestinian people have their legitimate rights to statehood, freedom, and dignity," Safadi conformed.
