Foreign Ministry: 229 Jordanians evacuated from Gaza

Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs through the Directorate of Operations and the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Cairo, continues to follow up on the conditions of Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza, and to ensure their evacuation to the Kingdom as quickly as possible.

The Ministry's spokesperson, Director of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sufian Qudah, explained that the Jordanian Embassy team in Cairo, which is currently on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, is working to evacuate 229 Jordanian citizens residing in Gaza and registered on the Ministry’s lists and who were allowed to leave Monday through the Rafah crossing to Egypt.

"The embassy's team receives them, provides them with what they need, provides the required medical assistance, and works to secure their return to the Kingdom as quickly as possible," Qudah said.

The number of Jordanian citizens residing in Gaza and registered on the ministry’s lists has reached 741 people to date, he added, stressing that the Kingdom will continue to evacuate its citizens from the Gaza Strip.
