Director of Israel and Palestine Affairs at Human Rights Watch, Omar Shaker, said that the statement of the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, is abhorrent.
"Depriving the population in an occupied territory of food and electricity is collective punishment, which is a war crime, as is using starvation as a weapon o war," Human Rights Watch posted on X, quoted Shaker in response to Gallant’s statements on Monday.
The International Criminal Court should take note of this call to commit a war crime, according to Shaker.
The Israeli occupation army minister, Yoav Galant, ordered the imposition of a complete siege on the Gaza Strip, “no fuel, no electricity, no water, no food...nothing,” saying: “Everything is closed,” according to Israeli media.
