Russia sets highest interest rate since 2003

Ammon News - The Central Bank of Russia announced today, Friday, that it raised interest rates from 19% to 21%, reaching the highest rate since 2003.

The Central Bank said in a press release: "The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Russia decided to raise the main interest rate by 2%, to reach 21% on an annual basis. The decision comes to control inflation rates in the country."
