Ammon News - British entrepreneur, inspirational speaker and content creator Simon Squibb won $1 million in UAE’s One Billion Award for content creators in Dubai on Monday.

Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, honoured Squibb on the last day of the 1 Billion Followers Summit.

The One Billion Award is deemed the world’s largest and most valuable for content creators. It aims to encourage and support creators whose content leaves a positive mark and changes communities for the better, inspires minds, brings nations closer together, and sustains values of compassion and empathy.

Squibb shares personal experiences to help people achieve their dreams. He focuses on motivating future leaders and supports social enterprises addressing global issues. He has over 9 million followers on social media platforms.

Squibb, who outdid 16,000 applicants, was among top five contenders who were selected through a public voting system which received a total of 3.3 million votes from around the world.

An emotional Squibb was in tears when he received the prize and thanked Sheikha Latifa.

What will he do with $1m?

Asked by the judges about what he would do if he won the $1million prize, Squibb said: “I would carry on doing what I'm doing, which is going out there and hearing people's dreams and trying to promote them, helping people believe in themselves, helping people get the tools they need for free to do what they love.”

The other finalists included Mahmoud Zuaiter from Gaza, who uses uplifting content to inspire hope amid hardships while shedding light on social issues, Saudi Arabian creator Nasser Al-Oqail, who simplifies complex books and ideas through his "Dupamicaffeine Sciences" channel, Creators For Lebanon, a group of four Lebanese influencers focussing on aiding displaced families and rebuilding communities and Australian influencer Samuel Weidenhofer who spreads positivity through heartwarming acts of kindness.

The panel of judges, who chose the final winner, included Ahmed ElGhandour and Prajakta Koli, both content creators and ambassadors of the 1 Billion Followers Summit; content creator Zachery Dereniowski; Amine Imnir, who won the Arab Hope Maker 2024 title, and Hassan Suleiman, known popularly as AboFlah. Gulf New
