Ammon News - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Ayman Safadi participated Tuesday in the third session of the ministerial meeting of the Arab-Japanese political dialogue at the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.

During the session, Safadi focused on the "importance" of holding the third round of political dialogue and the "need to deepen it with broader cooperation in various fields."

He said the holding of the dialogue "is evidence of the importance that the Arab world attaches to its relations with Japan."

Safadi praised Japan's positions on regional issues, especially the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories and its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and Syrian refugees.

He discussed strengthening Arab-Japanese coordination on regional and international issues, noting Japan's role in achieving peace, stability, prosperity and respect for international law in approaching world issues.

He noted the "successful" visit of Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa to Jordan earlier this week and the outcomes of the fourth strategic dialogue between Jordan and Japan.

He discussed a joint Arab-Japanese action in facing various international challenges, including combating terrorism, achieving sustainable development, energy security and the food security crisis.

He noted the "importance" of holding the sixth session of the Arab-Japanese Economic Forum in 2024 in Japan to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation.
