Ammon News - Senate President, Faisal Fayez, on Wednesday held official talks separately in Romanian capital, Bucharest, with his Romanian counterpart, Elena Georgiou, and Romanian House of Representatives Speaker, Marcel Ciolacu.
During the two meetings, discussions went over aspects of bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in various fields, in addition to reviewing the overall challenges facing the Middle East region.
Fayez's talks came during an official visit to Romania by a Senate delegation, at the invitation of President of Romanian Senate, attended by Jordanian ambassador to Romania, Sufian Qudah, according to a Senate statement.
Valuing the "high" level of Jordanian-Romanian relations, Fayez indicated that the two countries have "solid" ties based on mutual respect and joint cooperation, which would serve common interests.
Fayez also stressed importance of increasing joint economic cooperation, building new economic companies, activating existing bilateral agreements, and increasing Romania's investments in Jordan.
Fayez called on Romanian investors and businesspeople to benefit from Jordan's available investment opportunities in the fields of medical and religious tourism, public transportation, energy production projects and industries, mining and food security enterprises.
Lauding Romania's commitment to supplying wheat to Jordan, he called on opening Romanian market to Jordanian agricultural products, phosphates, pharmaceutical industries and Dead Sea products.

Fayez called on Romania to play a "greater" role within the European Union, in a bid to provide more economic support to Jordan, by establishing economic and investment projects.
This future effort would enable the Kingdom to continue its "pivotal" role as a peace-sponsoring country, continue providing services to Syrian refugees and face the region's conflicts repercussions, effects of Covid-19 pandemic and Russian-Ukrainian war on its economic conditions, according to Fayez.
Regarding the region's current situation and Palestinian cause, Fayez noted continuation of the the regional state of chaos and conflict has become "unacceptable," calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to enable the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate rights.
Fayez also commended Romania's positions in support of His Majesty King Abdullah II's efforts aimed to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, based on the two-state solution and the international legitimacy resolutions, as the only way to achieve peace.
During the talks, he lauded Bucharest's efforts to support Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian sanctities and preserve status quo of its holy places, referring in this regard to Romania's efforts to support Jordan to strengthen relations with European Union and NATO.
Jordan, he said, rejects any solutions that snub its national constants, or affect Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites.
His Majesty King Abdullah II constantly calls on ending all crises facing the region and the world, according to political frameworks and responsible dialogue away from violence, Fayez added.
Presenting Jordan's reform process, he added that Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives, is carrying out comprehensive political, economic, and administrative reforms.
This process, he noted, aims at strengthening the Kingdom's political and partisan life, reaching parliamentary governments, and enhancing popular participation in public life, empowering youth and women, advancing economic situation, and improving services provided to citizens.
