Ammon News - Minister of Interior Mazen Faraya and Norwegian Minister of Justice Emilie Enger on Monday discussed ways to enhance cooperation regarding the Syrian refugee crisis.

During a meeting with the Norwegian delegation, Faraya underscored Norway's support for Jordan to deal with the Syrian refugee crisis, including assistance for refugee camps and host communities' infrastructure and national development programs and projects.

Despite its limited capabilities, Jordan shouldered its responsibility of hosting Syrian refugees on behalf of the world, who only offered 6 percent of the funding required for the Jordan response plan to the Syrian refugees, stated the minister.

He pointed out the need to direct governmental and non-governmental organizations in Norway to support Jordan to guarantee a response to the growing needs of refugees in camps and host communities.

Jordan, he went on, will work hard to provide security, education, health care, and a decent life for refugees, pending a political solution in Syria that ends this "humanitarian catastrophe," unites Syria, and restores its security and stability.

Faraya invited Norwegian investors to visit Jordan and look firsthand at its attractive environment and government incentives provided under Jordan's economic reform scheme for the next ten years.

For her part, Enger affirmed that her country is keen to strengthen bilateral relations with Jordan, praising the Kingdom's political and economic reforms and its shouldering of burdens of hosting Syrian refugees in light of economic difficulties.
